Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MirrorNotes, an iOS application ("Service") developed by Lokesh Pudhari ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using MirrorNotes, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use MirrorNotes. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

3. The Service

MirrorNotes is a private journaling application for iOS that uses on-device AI to generate insights from your journal entries. The Service requires an iOS device capable of running the app (iOS 17 or later).

Free tier

Free users may write unlimited journal entries and access all past entries forever. Free users do not have access to AI features (Daily Nudge, Ask, Weekly Digest) or the home screen widget.

Paid tiers (Core and Deep)

Paid subscriptions unlock AI features. Subscription details, pricing, and feature availability are described in the App Store and on our website. We reserve the right to modify feature availability with reasonable notice.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Paid subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's payment terms.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Free trials (7 days for Core and Deep) convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.
• Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device.
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy, not ours. We do not process refunds directly.
• Prices may change with notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal.

5. Your content

You own your journal entries. We claim no rights to the content you write in MirrorNotes.

Because journal data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, you are responsible for managing it. Deleting the app or disabling iCloud will affect your data in ways we cannot reverse.

You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with applicable laws. You agree not to use MirrorNotes to store content that is illegal under applicable law.

6. AI features and limitations

AI-generated insights (nudges, digests, Ask responses) are generated by a local language model (Gemma 3 1B) running on your device. These are not professional advice of any kind: not medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

7. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Attempt to extract or tamper with the on-device AI model
• Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law
• Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service

8. Service availability and modifications

We aim to keep MirrorNotes available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable advance notice
• Release app updates that require iOS updates
• Temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance

Because your journal data is stored locally, a Service disruption does not affect your entries. You retain access to your journal even if the app or our servers are unavailable.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

MirrorNotes is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the on-device AI will produce accurate or appropriate results.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of MirrorNotes, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

11. Termination

You may stop using MirrorNotes at any time by deleting the app. To delete your account and server-side data, see Privacy Policy Section 6.

We may terminate or suspend access to the Service for violations of these Terms or applicable law, with or without notice.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
